Training

We offer comprehensive training to become a glider pilot. The training consists of both practical flight training and theoretical lessons. You must also obtain a flight radio certificate to be able to communicate on the aeronautical radio.

The beginner's course starts on 29 June and runs until 2 August. (C diploma)

You can start flight training for a C diploma from the age of 14, but you must be at least 16 years old to obtain your pilot's licence, and before you fly on your own, you must undergo a medical examination.

Some training takes place in May and June, please contact us for more information. Type rating, SSG and TMG courses are arranged by agreement. During May and June, flight instructors are often available on Saturdays.

Aerobatics course, AVA 1 and 2 Course 8-14 June.

Aerobatics course AVA 1 and 2 course 3-9 August.

Aerobatics course AVA 1 and 2 course 7-12 September. 

Stage 1: comprises approximately 24 exercises. After stage 1, you will be able to fly independently with an instructor on the ground.

Stage 2: comprises a further 30 exercises and qualifies you for a glider pilot's licence.

Theory is studied in parallel or during the winter. You participate and take tests online.

The length of the training varies depending on individual circumstances, weather conditions and how often you can fly. EFK offers intensive training during the month of July. There is the option of boarding school where you live on the field in a camping cabin.

The cost of a complete glider pilot's licence is approximately £4,000. You do not have to pay everything at once. You can also start with individual lessons to see if this is something for you.
